Noetic Perspectives on Life, Death, and Beyond – Marilyn Schlitz, PhD
Dr. Schlitz will give a presentation looking at how popular culture deals with the ever-present fear many of us have about our own mortality. She will also explore the mysteries of life and death from a variety of perspectives and world traditions. The presentation will focus on how noetic experiences, diverse cultural traditions, and breakthroughs in post-materialist science each contribute to an emerging new worldview that includes more dimensions than we usually comprehend in our daily lives. This emerging worldview expands our understanding of what it means to be fully human. To illustrate this, a multimedia education and community engagement program that is helping to transform the fear of death into an inspiration for living will be highlighted.
